OUR CORE · SOLAR POWER

Two ways to put
your roof to work.

For everyday living or the working day, start with solar generation designed around the electricity you actually use.

Images illustrate solar applications and are not presented as completed Energ Link New Zealand projects.

FROM SUNSHINE TO SWITCHED ON

Solar panels.
One connected
energy system.

Start by generating electricity on your roof. Then consider how storage and smart charging could fit your life.

Understand your solar system ↗
  1. 01

    Generate with solar panels

Panels turn daylight into electricity. An inverter makes that power usable in your home or business.

  2. 02

Use more of your own energy

Consider your daytime loads and flexible appliances alongside the generation your roof can support.

  3. 03

    Plan for storage and charging

Add compatible battery storage or EV charging where it makes sense for your needs and budget.

CLEAR ANSWERS ABOUT SOLAR

Explore all solar FAQs ↗
Will solar work on cloudy days?

Panels can generate in diffuse daylight, but output falls with cloud cover and is lower in winter. Shading, roof direction and local conditions all affect the energy your system produces.

Do I need a battery with solar?

No. Solar can operate without a battery. Storage may help when your use is mostly in the evening or you want designed backup capability. Compare the extra cost against your actual needs.

What should a solar quote include?

Look for exact panel and inverter models, installation scope, generation assumptions, GST treatment, exclusions, grid arrangements and written warranty terms. Any battery or backup scope should be clearly described.
